Medical travel increases to Dominican Republic
The Turks and Caicos Islands state paid US$7 million for medical procedures in health centres in the Dominican Republic in 2021. From January 2022, the two countries will also strengthen health tourism and educational programmes aimed at the medical profession. Haiti has recorded its first outbreak of the fatal pig virus African swine fever in 37 years, the World Organisation for Animal Health said, fueling concerns about the disease’s spread in the Americas.
